° 43 48 N 9 ° 50 24 W / 51.73, -9.84 Bear (Irish Bear) - a peninsula on the southwest coast of Irelan d, on the island of the same name, from the north limits Kenmare Bay and in the south of Bantry Bay. On the peninsula there are tw o ranges of hills, Caha and Slieve Miskish. Beara was the traditional seat of Clan O Sullivan Bere and also one of the last strongholds of resistance in Ireland after the Battle of Kinsale. On the peninsula are the ruins of the castle and the Castle Museum Dunboy copper mining.
